Become a Breast Mate

Becoming a Breast Mate has a huge impact on how we can continue to support the community.

With your help we can continue to:

• Provide free support to people facing breast cancer and their loved ones in the ACT and surrounding NSW region.

• Promote awareness of self-checking for breast cancer and to early detect so that everyone can feel empowered to support themselves.

• Advocate for improved health services for breast cancer patients within our community. 

• Provide an opportunity to shape the future of this local independent charity at the Annual General Meeting which is held annually in November.   

Supporting You:

You get hands on access to our services:

• After diagnosis, we can match you up with a “buddy” who can support you through your journey.

• We’re here when others may think that your treatment is over providing ongoing support through our groups, connection with others and networking events.

• You can reach out anytime to obtain information on the support services available in our region.

Supporting Others:

You don’t have to have experienced breast cancer yourself, you may have been a carer for a loved one, or know a family member, friend or colleague who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

For example, a 1-year membership of $15 wll cover the cost of a Buddy Bag that's free to breast cancer patients’ post-surgery, and a 3-year membership will enable a support team volunteer to facilitate one support group catch-up in the region.
