Become a Breast Mate

Become a Breast Mate and Champion Our Cause

  • Did you know that Bosom Buddies depends on the generosity of the Canberra and NSW community? We do not receive additional funding from local or federal government sources, nor from larger cancer organisations.

  • When you become a Breast Mate, your contribution whether it's a donation, pledge, or sponsorship, is crucial. It enables us to provide invaluable support to individuals who are often vulnerable and enduring costly and exhausting treatments for breast cancer, all at no cost to them.

  • Instead of being absorbed by administration expenses, large offices, or pooled into extensive research funding, your support is directed towards minimising administrative costs. The Bosom Buddies team consists of one dedicated individual working behind the scenes alongside our invaluable volunteers who generously donate their time to keep our local charity running.

Reasons to Choose Bosom Buddies as a Breast Mate

  • We are local and passionate about what we do.

  • We provide support services at no cost to people facing breast cancer and their loved ones in the ACT and surrounding NSW region.

  • We help people navigate their breast cancer treatment - before, during and after their treatment.

  • We promote awareness in the community of what to look for by self-checking for breast cancer so that everyone can feel empowered to support themselves.

  • We gift free of charge Buddy Bags and Oncology Packs to breast cancer patients being treated in Canberra’s public and private hospitals and in the surrounding NSW region.

  • We advocate for improved health services for breast cancer patients within our community.

How to Support Us

Workplace Giving is a charitable donation program that allows employees to regularly donate money to Bosom Buddies (a Deductible Gift Recipient) and receive a tax benefit. Through payroll donations, employees are able to claim an immediate tax deduction.

A bonus is that employers can also match an employee's contribution to make an even bigger impact!

Your regular donation helps us support those diagnosed with breast cancer with the added incentive that you are able to claim an immediate tax deduction.

You can also choose to make a one-off donation to Bosom Buddies through your payroll instead of having a long-term planned agreement. Just like a regular payroll deduction, one-off deductions are made from your income pre-tax, offering a wonderful tax benefit.

Can companies make a tax deductible donation to charity?

Just as individuals can claim donations as a tax deduction, businesses can claim gifts to charity – as long as it is a cash gift and the charity is a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).
